The Unstereotype Alliance panel at the Women's Economic Principles event was represented by Sandra Martinelli, CEO of the Brazilian Association of Advertisers (ABA) and supported by the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), and addressed the prevalence of stereotypes in advertising.
The panel also featured presentations by Fernando Fascioli, CEO of McCann Worldgroup for Latin America and the Caribbean (McCann is a global member of the Global Unstereotype Alliance), Isabel Aquino (Director of Heads advertising, a signatory of WEPs and a partnership of UN Women since 2016 is measuring every 6 months as women and men are portrayed in advertising in Brazil) and Isabela Aggiunti, responsible for Marketing Science on Facebook Brazil (Facebook is also part of the Global Unstereotype Alliance).
The ABA distributed the Guide to Responsible Representation of Gender in Advertising [available in English, Spanish and Portuguese], which seeks to inspire marketers to work with less stereotypes in their campaigns, a discussion that is gaining increasing global relevance.
